Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics (CEREC) are customized dental crowns crafted in-house with specialized software and a milling unit. CEREC crowns are created to blend in naturally with the rest of your smile when it comes to their size, shape, and color. They’re also increasingly convenient, reducing the number of dental visits that are normally required.
The Process of Getting CEREC Same-Day Crowns
No matter if it is a broken tooth or a cracked one that needs repairing, our dentists will begin by administering local anesthesia to numb the tooth and its surrounding area. We’ll then remove all decayed or damaged portions of the enamel so that the remaining structure consists of healthy tissue.
Using specialized software, we will take digital impressions of your teeth so that the three-dimensional model properly reflects the current state of your tooth as well as what you and your dentist desire it to look like when finished.
The design is then sent to the in-house milling unit for creation. While you wait, your new crown will be created from a single block of porcelain or ceramic. When finished, we’ll polish off the restoration and ensure it matches the rest of your smile.
There is no temporary crown needed, as you will receive your finalized restoration while you wait.
