Dr. Dan Maurer, DDS

Born and raised in the Longmont community, Dr. Dan wanted to help his fellow neighbors by improving their smiles just like his father. Being able to create a positive impact on the lives of his patients is incredibly fulfilling for him, and getting to build strong relationships with others is one of the best parts of his work. He obtained his dental doctorate from the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine, and he even interned at several public health clinics around Colorado, such as the Salud Health Clinics in Commerce City. Over the years, he’s attended multiple conferences and taken continuing education courses to refine and expand his skills.

Whenever he isn’t at the office, Dr. Dan spends time with his lovely wife and their child. He also has two pet dogs named Kona and Lilo. He enjoys outdoor activities, including golfing, snowboarding, fly fishing, and hiking around Rocky Mountain National Park. He likes watching and playing basketball and other sports. In fact, he and his wife recently joined the Quarters Skee Ball League!

Dr. James A. Maurer, DDS

Originally from Wisconsin, Dr. James Maurer has decades of experience in the dental field. He first attended the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee for his undergraduate degree before studying at the University of Minnesota for his doctorate in dental surgery. After graduating, he moved back to Longmont, opened his dental office, and has been a proud and active member of the community ever since. He also holds memberships in various professional organizations, and he constantly tries to expand his skills and techniques to provide high-quality dental care.

If you don’t find him at the office helping patients with their smiles, Dr. Maurer is typically at home spending time with his wife as well as their family and loved ones. Hanging out and traveling is one of their biggest hobbies, as well as playing golf with friends. In his spare time, he also invests some time in helping those in need as a member of the Longmont Sunshine Club and Colorado’s Donated Dental Services.

Dr. Brandt Bergman, DMD

With close to a decade of experience in the world of dentistry, Dr. Bergman brings passion and friendliness to the dental practice so that patients can feel comfortable and confident about their dental care. Building relationships with others is the name of the game for him, and he enjoys utilizing his knowledge and skills to help others achieve their best smiles. It was during high school biology class that he knew he wanted to work in the medical field. After shadowing his childhood best friend’s dad—a dentist—he knew that he had found his calling.

Dr. Bergman studied at The University of Iowa and has also completed numerous hours of continuing education through SPEAR Education, including the AAID Maxicourse for Implant Dentistry. He’s also a member of professional organizations like the American Dental Association, the Colorado Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the American Academy of Implant Dentistry.

When he isn’t at the office, Dr. Bergman is with his amazing wife and hanging out with their three dogs. Other than spending time with family and friends, he also enjoys biking and exploring every outdoor activity there is to try in Colorado.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get emergency dental care?

The first step in obtaining emergency dental care is always to call Longmont Complete Dentistry as soon as possible. If you are experiencing a life-threatening emergency, please call 911 immediately.

Most hospital emergency rooms, mobile clinics, and urgent care centers do not staff dentists and are not equipped to handle dental emergencies. Thus, if you go there, you’re unlikely to be treated.

In some cases, we may be able to accommodate a same-day appointment, but please call us as soon as possible for help.

It is important to note that dental emergencies are often an indication of larger dental issues, and an important sign that it’s time to get back on track with your regular, preventive dental exams. This will save you time, money, and your natural teeth!

How much does a dental check-up & cleaning cost in Longmont?

The cost of a dental check-up and cleaning can vary depending on a variety of factors, including the location of the dentist and the individual oral health of the patient.

Every check-up and cleaning should begin with a patient health history and discussion of any oral health concerns. It should also include a thorough examination by a dentist, a professional cleaning, X-rays, and an oral cancer screening.

The average cost for a dental check-up and cleaning in the United States is between $200 and $350. If you have dental insurance, the fees for this are negotiated with us by your insurance company.

What level of education is required to be a dentist?

Here in the United States, all dentists must earn either a Doctor of Dental Sciences (DDS) or a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from one of the nation’s 67 accredited dental schools.

Acceptance into dental school requires the student to have earned a bachelor's degree and very high grades in a major that is heavy in both math and the sciences.

Dental school is a three-year program which combines classroom and hands-on learning.

Following their initial three-year program, some dentists choose to continue their education by earning one of 12 specializations recognized by the American Dental Association. These require an additional three or more years of dental school training.

Following dental school, all dentists are required to complete a specific amount of continuing education hours to maintain their dental license.
