Why Patients in Erie Trust Us
Say Hello to Our Incredible Dentists Near Erie
Dr. Dan Maurer
Dr. Dan was born and raised in Longmont, and had the distinct pleasure of watching his father, Dr. James Mauer, improve patients’ smiles for many years. His father’s work inspired Dr. Dan to pursue a dental degree at the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine. Since then, he’s attended various professional conferences and taken advanced dental courses from the Engel Institute at the Dental Practice masters Online School.
Dr. Dan likes to stay busy by supporting local businesses and enjoying the great outdoors. You might see him playing golf at one of Longmont’s many courses, fly fishing, hiking, shooting hoops at the Longmont Rec Center, or teaming up with his wife, Tanna, for their match at the Quarters Skee Ball League! Dr. Dan and Tanna also love their child, Tinley Jo Maurer, and their two dogs, Kona (a Boxer) and Lilo (a French Bulldog).
Dr. James Maurer
Dr. James took a few detours before finally landing in Longmont to open Longmont Complete Dentistry. He grew up in Wisconsin, but after visiting Colorado’s Winter Park with his school’s ski club, he knew he wanted to live here someday. The last stop on his way to becoming a top-notch dentist near Erie was earning his dental degree from the University of Minnesota.
Though Dr. James is a proud member of several honor societies and professional organizations, he’s most proud of the quality care he offers each and every patient. To Dr. James, our patients are part of the family, and he treats them accordingly.
Dr. James is happily married to Katie, and both are proud parents to Lisa and Daniel. The couple enjoy spending time together, traveling with their family, and playing golf with their friends. To help those in need receive the care they need, Dr. James also works with the Longmont Sunshine Club and Colorado’s Donated Dental Services.
Dr. Brandt Bergman
Dr. Bergman loves building genuine relationships with his patients and looks forward to meeting you in person! We’re happy he joined our team in 2023; his friendly nature and years of experience in dentistry are a welcome addition to our practice.
Like Dr. Dan, Dr. Bergman had a dentist in his life that inspired him to pursue the career – in this case, his childhood best friend’s dad. Dr. Bergman’s passion for dentistry has never wavered, so it’s no surprise that he’s completed countless hours of advanced training with SPEAR Education and the AAID Maxicourse for Implant Dentistry. He’s an active member of several professional organizations, including the Academy of General Dentistry and the American Academy of Implant Dentistry.
Dr. Bergman is married to his wonderful wife, Michelle (who also works in medicine). They love their three dogs, and Dr. Bergman enjoys spending time with his family, biking, and exploring the great outdoors in his free time.
Hear from Other Nearby Patients

Dr. Bergman is really great. He explains what he is going to do, ensures I’m comfortable and there’s no pain, and then is very willing to adjust if needed. I needed to replace a crown but I didn’t feel pressured to have it done. I went ahead with it and the cost was reasonable. I highly recommend Dr. Bergman and the rest of the staff at Longmont Complete Dentistry.

At our dental practice near Erie, we’re always happy when patients take an interest in their oral health. Below, you’ll find some of the most frequently asked questions we receive every day.
What is the Best Way to Find a Dentist Who Does Dental Implants?
Dental implants are one of the most complex procedures a general dentist can perform, so knowing who to trust matters. When searching for a dentist who places dental implants near you, look for advanced training, extensive continuing education, and experience specifically in implant dentistry.
At Longmont Complete Dentistry, both Dr. Maurer and Dr. Bergman have completed advanced implant courses, including training through the Engel Institute and the AAID Maxicourse for Implant Dentistry. Checking credentials like these, along with patient reviews and before-and-after photos, can help you feel confident in your choice.
How Do I Get Emergency Dental Care?
Dental emergencies can come up anytime, anywhere, so it’s important to have a plan. If you need emergency dentistry near Erie, start by calling our office right away. We reserve time every day when we’re open for emergency appointments.
Our friendly staff will talk to you about your symptoms, help you schedule an emergency appointment, and offer some general advice for comfort. Once you arrive, we’ll check you in, examine your mouth, relieve your pain, and provide all the information you need to make an informed decision for your oral health.
How Do I Find the Best Place to Get Dental Work Done?
The “best” place for dental care can vary from person to person, so it’s worth doing a little homework. Most new patients focus on four key factors:
- Location: Is the office convenient to get to from home or work?
- Insurance & Financing: Do they accept your plan or offer financing options like CareCredit or Cherry?
- Services Offered: Can they perform the procedures I want or need?
- Patient Reviews: Do other patients feel heard and well cared for?
You can usually find this information on a practice’s website and Google listing, making online research the best place to start when choosing dental care near Erie.
What Level of Education Is Required to Be a Dentist?
Every practicing dentist has completed a substantial amount of education, training, and licensing. Typically, a future dentist earns a bachelor’s degree, then completes four years of dental school to receive either a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD).
After that, they must pass national written exams and state or regional clinical exams to become licensed. Many, like Dr. Maurer and Dr. Bergman, go even further by pursuing ongoing continuing education in areas such as dental implants, advanced restorative care, and modern treatment techniques to keep their skills up to date.
