Life at home for Dr. Duffey mostly consists of spending time with his wife, Ashley, and taking care of their many animals (which include a dog, two cats, and six chickens who give them plenty of fresh eggs). He also loves being outside—in the summer, he likes to go cycling both on the road and nature trails, and he tries to ski at least 30-40 days a year as well.

Why Did You Want to Become a Dentist?
Dr. Duffey knew he would wind up in healthcare because it has always been a big part of his family. His grandfather was an oncologist, his dad is an orthopedic surgeon, and his sister is a dermatologist. While he was an undergrad and still considering which path to take, the predental community at his school was so good to him that dentistry ended up being an easy choice.

Dentistry?
Dr. Duffey started his college career at UCLA, and he went on to earn his DDS degree from the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine. He graduated summa cum laude and was inducted into the dental honor society, Omicron Kappa Upsilon. He decided to stay at CU to complete his General Practice Residency, during which he received training for dental implants, endodontics (root canals), prosthodontics, and complex surgical procedures.
To keep his skills sharp and his knowledge up to date, he attends monthly meetings with the Spear Study Club, and he is also an active member of the American Dental Association, Colorado Dental Association, and Metro Denver Dental Society.
